LET THE SUN CHARGE YOUR EBIKE!
It’s hard to believe you can take this much charger into the wilderness with you and charge your ebike during your lunch break. The Electrify Bike Sun200 - 200 Watt Solar Ebike Battery Charger puts out more power than your typical charger that you plug in the wall at home to charge your ebike. Two hundred watts is a lot of juice. That is equivalent to a 4amp 52V or 48V charger. That allows you to maximize your charge in the shortest time possible and do it when you have no other source of power. You can keep riding your ebike while camping, touring, or during any kind of emergency power outage.
Charge your battery any time you are doing something other than riding. Whether hanging out at camp, hiking, hunting, or fishing, you can be topping off your tank from the sun. If you are always exploring away from base on your bike, take two batteries so one can be charging while you are off riding. If you are going cross country, plan lunch when the sun is high in the sky and get a good charge while you take a break. To use it, all you need to do is unfold it in the sun and plug in your battery. Now all you need is some sun and your ebike and you can go anywhere.
Consisting of ten 20 watt individual panels laid out on a tough 900D blanket, the Sun200 folds up into a tight package less than 2 inches thick. It can go in your backpack, on your rack, bag, or panniers. Remarkably, we were able to get this much solar power in a package that will fit comfortably on a bike. It also features a carrying handle and a pocket to hold the charge controller and any cords you need to connect your battery.
Electrify Bike took its time to check all the boxes while developing this cost-effective solar charging solution. This is the most rugged, lightweight, portable, and powerful solar charger for e-bikes currently on the market. With the flexibility to charge any size battery from 36 to 72 volts, it is future-proof - whatever voltage your future ebike uses, the Sun200 can charge it.
The cells are made by Sunpower, maker of the most efficient, lightweight, and rugged cells available. The Sunpower cells are flexible and tough. They have a solid copper backing that is highly resistant to breaking. The efficiency of the Sun200 solar panel is 22.8% which is the highest efficiency on the market. Why is this important? When you only have a few hours to charge your battery and have practical limits on the size and weight you can carry with you, efficiency matters. This kind of efficiency was unheard of a few years ago and is currently the highest available.
Included with the Sun200 is a variable voltage MPPT charge controller. The output voltage can be adjusted to charge 36v, 48v, 52v, 60v, and 72-volt batteries as efficiently as possible. It maximizes the current draw from the solar panels as well as the output to the battery as weather and daylight conditions change. After selecting the voltage, it will turn on and off with the sun’s coming and going, maximizing charging continuously. The controller can handle 400 watts of power, allowing those with the requisite skills to connect two Sun200 panels in parallel to capture twice the sunlight energy and charge twice as fast. Programmable up to 84V output for a full range of powerful eBike batteries, it includes an LED display showing both input voltage and amps and output voltage and amps for continuous readout of solar panel performance and the charge current into the battery pack.
For a complete off-grid or emergency power solution you may want to add an inverter for 110v AC electric power. You spent a lot of money on those ebike batteries and they hold a lot of power. Leverage your investment by letting them power your AC appliances while traveling off-grid or for emergency AC power at home in the event of a power outage. The EBC 500-watt inverter plugs directly into your ebike battery and supplies 500 watts of electricity to power lights, TVs, radios, USB chargers, etc.
- All 10 solar cells attached to this panel must have the same orientation to the sun, and none can be in the shade. The MPPT controller will match the output to the lowest cell in the panel, so if one panel is in the shade, it is like they all are. Likewise, do not put the panel on a curved surface or allow any bends in the overall panel as this changes the orientation to the sun of some of the cells.
- The Sun200 puts out 39v, and the MPPT charger is a step-up controller. This means that 39v is the lowest voltage it will put out, but it will step all the way from 39v to 84v. Since 36v batteries charge at 42v, this solar charger will work for 36v batteries. Likewise, 72v batteries charge at 84v, so 72v batteries are within the solar charger's range. It will not output 12v.
Caution: Charging your battery when temperatures are below freezing can damage your battery.
PLEASE NOTE: This solar charge system only works with batteries like the ones sold by Electrify Bike Company with 2-pin charge and power ports. Almost all batteries for mid-drive conversion motors and most hub motors will work. Motors like Bosch, Brose, Shimano, and Yamaha have proprietary charging systems. The battery will not accept a charge from any 3rd party charger.

Hi I have 2 Ebikes 48V each 750W motor an I was thinking about maybe some power outage how much would it cost for 2 solar kits an we have ofcorse Chargers that are 110v house current. Thanks
