Electrify Bike Sun200 - 200 Watt Solar Solar Ebike Battery Charger

Charges 36v, 48v, 52v, 60v, and 72v batteries.  It’s hard to believe you can take this much charger into the wilderness and charge your ebike during your lunch break.  This solar panel and charger put out more power than your typical charger that you plug into the wall at home to charge your ebike.  Two hundred watts is a lot of juice.  That is equivalent to a 4amp 52V or 48V charger. That allows you to maximize your charge in the shortest time possible and do it when you have no other power source.  You can keep riding your ebike while camping, touring, or during any emergency power outage.

PLEASE NOTE: This solar charge system only works with batteries like the ones sold by Electrify Bike Company with 2-pin charge and power ports. Almost all batteries for mid-drive conversion motors and most hub motors will work. Motors like Bosch, Brose, Shimano, and Yamaha have proprietary charging systems. Batteries for these motors will not accept a charge from any 3rd party charger.

More information can be found here.

To use it, all you need to do is unfold it in the sun and plug in your battery. Now all you need is some sun and your ebike, and you can go anywhere or continue to have transportation during an emergency power outage.

Consisting of ten 20-watt individual panels laid out on a rugged 900D blanket, the Sun200 folds into a tight package less than 2 inches thick.  It can go in your backpack, rack, bag, or panniers.  Remarkably, we were able to get this much solar power in a package that will fit comfortably on a bike.  It also features a carrying handle and a pocket to hold the charge controller and any cords you need to connect your battery.

This is the most rugged, lightweight, portable, and powerful solar charger for e-bikes currently on the market.  With the flexibility to charge any size battery from 36 to 72 volts, it is future-proof - whatever voltage your future ebike uses, the Sun200 can charge it.

The cells are made by Sunpower, a maker of the most efficient, lightweight, and rugged cells available.  The efficiency of the Sun200 solar panel is 22.8%, the highest efficiency on the market.

The Sun200 includes a variable voltage MPPT charge controller.  The voltage is variable to charge 36v, 48v, 52v, 60v, and 72-volt batteries as efficiently as possible.  It maximizes the current draw from the solar panels and output to the battery as weather and daylight conditions change.  The controller can handle 400 watts of power, allowing those with the requisite skills to connect two Sun200 panels in parallel to capture twice the sunlight. It includes an LED display showing both input voltage and amps and output voltage and amps for continuous readout of solar panel performance and the charge current into the battery pack.

Caution: Charging your battery when temperatures are below freezing can damage your battery.

Notes:
  1. All 10 solar cells attached to this panel must have the same orientation to the sun, and none can be in the shade.  The MPPT controller will match the output to the lowest cell in the panel, so if one panel is in the shade, it is like they all are.  Likewise, do not put the panel on a curved surface or allow any bends in the overall panel as this changes the orientation to the sun of some of the cells.
  2. The Sun200 puts out 39v, and the MPPT charger is a step-up controller. This means that 39v is the lowest voltage it will put out, but it will step all the way from 39v to 84v. Since 36v batteries charge at 42v, this solar charger will work for 36v batteries. Likewise, 72v batteries charge at 84v, so 72v batteries are within the solar charger's range.  It will not output 12v.

52 Volt Battery 100% charge voltage is 58.8v
48 Volt Battery 100% charge voltage is 54.6v
36 Volt Battery 100% charge voltage is 42v

Set it 1 volt lower for approximately a 90% charge and 2 volts lower for approximately an 80%charge.
