52v Batteries
Batteries from Electrify Bike Company utilize the latest 21700 cell technology from the leading brands making safe Lithium Ion cells. We use top-of-the-line high-capacity/high-power cells from Samsung, Panasonic, and LG. You won't find batteries of the same size with higher capacity because we use the highest-capacity cells available in all our batteries.
The cells are more expensive but worth it in terms of performance and peace of mind. Using high-quality cells, BMS, and build quality ensures our batteries are as safe as possible. We still use 18650 cells in our low-profile Super Shark battery to keep it as low-profile as possible to fit in more frames.
Our 52v batteries (except the Super Shark and 25 amp Mini-Shark) can deliver an astounding 50 amps of continuous power. That is over 2500 watts! Very few motors use anywhere near that power, which means the battery will run cool and last much longer than a battery rated at or near the same power as the motor.
52v batteries are the most popular batteries we sell, and they are often the best choice for 48v motors, including batteries for Bafang BBSHD, BBS02 48v motors, and Tongsheng TSDZ2 48v motors. They are also the most popular battery for CYC Photon, Stealth, and X1 Pro mid-drive motors.
Here is an article providing information on 52v vs. 48v batteries.
Electrify Bike Company does not include a charger with our batteries. Here is why:
Electrify Bike only provides the highest-quality batteries and chargers. Our chargers have a critical feature not found on cheap chargers typically included with batteries. Our chargers, from 2 amps to 5 amps, can extend the life of your battery, saving you hundreds of dollars. We do this with a switch that allows you to charge the battery to 80%, 90%, or 100%. Lithium Ion batteries grow dendrites faster on the anode when left with a 100% charge. Dendrites eventually lead to the cells losing capacity. In fact, this loss is quite significant. Here are the numbers:
100% 350 charges
90% 1000 charges
80% 1600 charges
These charge numbers indicate how many full charges you get before the capacity (range) is reduced to 80% of the rated capacity when the battery was new.
We do this for a few additional reasons. We want our customers to be able to choose chargers based on price and charging speed. Some people don't care about the charging speed, and others want to do quick turnarounds and get back on the road/trail. We have kept the price of our chargers and batteries low, and we can do that because we sell a lot of them. A safe, high-quality lithium-ion battery cannot be built as cheaply as some you find online. They are unsafe, don't last, and often don't meet their specifications for power and range.
